Compliant low risk category E food businesses are obligated to complete the food safety and hygiene self-assessment questionnaire. The purpose of this questionnaire is to ensure that the food business remains compliant with legal requirements and to reduce the burden on food business operators. Wigan Council can then focus resources on non-compliant businesses to protect the public’s health. Completing this questionnaire is a form of remote inspection which allows Wigan Council’s food safety team to assess the level of risk your business may pose and how well you control these risks. The business will not receive a new food hygiene rating, and the previously awarded rating will apply.
If your business has received a letter notifying you of the need to complete this questionnaire, please complete the form below within 28 days of receipt of the letter.
Please be aware that if the nature of your food handling activities has significantly changed or we receive a food complaint, an Environmental Health Officer may still need to physically inspect your premises.
